Shantideva said that Vipashyana together with Shamatha eradicates negative emotions. Therefore, it’s important to first accomplish calm abiding (Shamatha) which is the basis for special insight (Vipashyana).
Khenpo Sonam Nyima Rinpoche will give a teaching on the practice of Shamatha and how to incorporate it into our practice and daily lives.
The teaching will be divided into four sessions, which include the preparation for Shamatha practice, how to focus during the practice (important points to consider, what to avoid and where to focus), and how to conclude the practice.
The teaching will aim to synthesise the many different instructions that exist on Shamatha practice and offer it in a cohesive and comprehensive way.
The teaching is offered to all who wish to develop inner joy and tranquility, leading to discriminating wisdom.
